FAQs
What is heard LEARNING?
heard LEARNING is a trauma-informed training provider. We offer practical, accessible learning for people who support children, young people and adults who have experienced trauma. Our focus is on helping people understand what sits beneath behaviour and respond more effectively in everyday situations.
We focus on real life rather than abstract theory. Our training is about what to do differently in the moment, not about learning language or models that don’t translate into practice. We aim to keep learning clear, supportive and realistic, without jargon or overwhelm.
All training is delivered by experienced practitioners with real-world and lived experience. We understand the pressures of the work because we’ve worked within those systems ourselves.
No. While much of our work supports people working with children and young people, we also work with adults’ services, healthcare professionals, parents and carers, and organisations supporting people at different stages of life.
Who The Training Is For
Anyone who works with people. If your role involves supporting others, our training is relevant.
Yes. Trauma can show up anywhere. Staff such as receptionists, administrators, call handlers, support workers and volunteers often have regular contact with people under stress, and benefit from understanding trauma‑informed responses.
Yes. Many organisations choose team or whole-setting training to support shared understanding and consistency in how people respond.
About Trauma-Informed Training
Trauma-informed practice involves understanding how trauma can affect behaviour, communication and relationships, and responding in ways that support safety, dignity and regulation.
No. We do not provide therapy. Our training focuses on day-to-day practice, including how people communicate, respond to behaviour and manage difficult situations safely.
No. Trauma-informed practice is not about excusing behaviour or lowering expectations.
The training supports professionals to hold clear boundaries and standards, while better understanding what may be influencing someone’s behaviour. This understanding helps staff respond in ways that are more effective, proportionate and consistent, rather than reactive or punitive.
Being trauma-informed means changing how we respond, not what we expect. Accountability still matters. Structure still matters. The difference is that responses are shaped with greater awareness of stress, trauma and regulation, so expectations are upheld in ways that support learning, safety and long-term change.
